മരുതോങ്കര: മരുതോങ്കര പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ മുണ്ടക്കുറ്റി ഭാഗത്ത് ജലസേചന വകുപ്പിന്റെ അധീനതയിലുള്ള ഭൂമിയില്‍ നിന്ന് വ്യാപകമായി മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിച്ചുകടത്തിയതായി പരാതി. ഒരു മാസക്കാലയളവിനുള്ളില്‍ തേക്കുള്‍പ്പെടെ പതിനഞ്ചോളം വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള മരങ്ങളും മറ്റ് പാഴ്മരങ്ങളുമാണ് അനധികൃതമായി മുറിച്ചുകടത്തിയത്.

പ്രദേശത്ത് നടക്കുന്ന റോഡ് പണിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ചില മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റാന്‍ അനുമതിയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ മറപിടിച്ചാണ് സമീപത്തെ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഭൂമിയിലെ മരങ്ങള്‍ മാഫിയ സംഘം വെട്ടിമാറ്റിയത്. മരം മുറിക്കുന്നത് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തപ്പോള്‍ ഈ ഭാഗത്ത് പാലം പണി വരാന്‍ പോകുകയാണെന്നും അതിനുള്ള കല്ലും മെറ്റലും സംഭരിക്കാന്‍ സ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കുകയാണെന്നുമായിരുന്നു മറുപടി.

ഇരുപത് വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പ് സമൂഹ വനവല്‍ക്കരണത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിച്ച മരങ്ങളടക്കമാണ് കടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയത്. കടത്തിയ മരങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് രൂപ വിലവരും. തെളിവ് നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മരം മുറിച്ച കുറ്റികള്‍ ജെസിബി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പിഴുതുമാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

സംഭവത്തില്‍ ശക്തമായ നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കുമെന്ന് സ്ഥലം എംഎല്‍എ കെ.എം അഭിജിത്ത് വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ജലസേചന മന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസില്‍ വിവരമറിയിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് മന്ത്രി അടിയന്തര റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ജലസേചന വകുപ്പിന്റെ പരാതിയില്‍ കുറ്റയാടി പൊലീസ് കേസ് എടുത്ത് അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജെസിബി പൊലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെ സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ച് മരം കടത്താന്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ച ലോറികള്‍ കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള ശ്രമത്തിലാണ് പൊലീസ്.
